We really enjoyed our stay here over the long Memorial Day weekend. The cottage is a work of art, and just hanging out in it is a joy. But there are so many other enjoyments to be had: walks around the grounds to relax in a hammock under the pines near a pond and fountain; mushroom hunting on a trail walk through deep woods; a relaxing session in the hot tub on the deck. For those who just cannot stand so much peace and quiet, Lexington and Staunton beckon, each with its own set of attractions and excellent restaurants.
Rockbridge Winery is even closer: recommended! To top it off, the hosts make you feel like visiting royalty.
Absolutely magnificent!

Stay here. This place is an absolutely beautiful, unique, magnificently well-maintained and immaculate architect-hand-built cottage on a gorgeous piece of property, owned and operated by warm and delightful people, who are particularly gifted at hospitality. It is a destination that could equally suit a small family with children of any age (private spring-fed pond, nature preserve, hot tub, etc.) as well as the outdoorsman, being located within easy driving distance from George Washington and Thomas Jefferson National Forest and Shenandoah National Park. After a long day of hiking and traveling Skyline Drive, we were greeted by our hosts, who offered us locally baked pound cake and provided directions to the nearest wineries and local trails. I have already recommended this place to friends and family and am eager to return!

We stayed recently to escape from our busy lifestyles and have a peaceful weekend. The cottage and surroundings were perfect. Just what we needed. Very secluded and private. The photos do not do the cottage justice. Must see to appreciate this special place. We had no cell phone reception but the owners supply a phone card. Honestly, it was a blessing to have no reception. My only regret is that we didn't stay long enough. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys nature and who needs a quiet getaway! The owners were very polite and accomodating. Thanks!!

What a beautiful Cottage... We enjoyed our time here so much. The views and surrounding area were so beautiful, the cottage is larger and even more beautiful than it appears in the pictures and very comfortable and well equipped with everything. Kathy and Len were absolutly wonderful and the best to work with and we so much enjoyed talking with
